Jeneanne Thomas - Pre-Kindergarten Class - "Busy Bees"

Sis. Jeneann has been teaching Sunday School for 28 years. She has taught children ranging in age from 2 to 12 years.  When asked why she enjoys teaching she responds by saying it is such a blessing when she sees the little ones praising God and that it is a privilege to have a part in leading these little ones to God.

"I love teaching the pre-kindergarten class because they are enthusiastic and excited to learn about Jesus.  We use interactive teaching methods because children learn better by “doing” instead of just listening.  We  encourage the children to learn memory verses and work on them each week.  The class is very active and the children enjoy coloring and making crafts each week. We strive to teach the children to praise the Lord and how to respect the house of God."

Sis. Jeneann is assisted by Sis. Nicole Campfield, both which are are vital part of Children’s Department and we are blessed to have  them on our staff.

Bonnie Lucas - Kindergarten - Jesus and Me

Sis. Lucas has been teaching Sunday School for over 25 years.  She has taught 1st through 6th grade and currently teaches our Kindergarten class.  She believes that Sunday School should be FUN for the children, not just come to class, hear a story and color a picture.  Her classes are interactive and exciting!  During class time, the children have sampled "manna" and "cake" like that the widow woman served Elijah.   Her lessons are theme oriented and lively.   She utilizes interactive story time and crafts to teach her students the love of Jesus and respect for the house of God.

She believes children are never too young to start learning the word of God .  "This is the age where you begin to lay a foundation for the children that God loves them and that He will always be there for them.  We work on learning the power of prayer and it's importance and learning to praise God.   We also work "hard"  to learn memory verses through games and songs each week."

Sis. Lucas is also the choir director for Kidz Praise.

Brittney Reynolds - Middler Class - "Heaven's Express"

Sis. Brittney is the teacher for our 1st and 2nd grade class.  “I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach the  1st and 2nd graders!  I love seeing the children learn about God and grow in the Lord.  I want to be a light and a witness to every child that attends or visits my class.  I have been dealt some  pretty tough trials in the past few months and I want them to see and KNOW that you CAN do anything with God on your side.  If you just trust and believe in Him he will bring you through anything.”

We are so exited and blessed to have Sis. Brittney on our staff!  She is a dedicated servant of God and will pass Godly virtues and values on to her class with enthusiasm and excitement!

Mark and Carrie Dean - Primary Class - "God's Treasures"

Mark and Carrie Dean are the teachers for the Primary Class, grades 3-5. They have a combined 24 years of teaching Sunday School.

"We feel that our students should know the Bible basics by the time they graduate from our class. Our lessons are student-centered and we do a lot of hands on and object lessons that help reinforce that day’s lessons as well as life lessons and how they relate to the Bible.  We also strive to help the children hide God’s word in their hearts by having them learn one scripture each week. Our main goal is that each of the children be baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost. We encourage them to be faithful to the house of God and offer positive reinforcement and praise for their efforts. We also teach our students how to be a witness to their friends and fellow classmates outside the church because children can also be soul winners.”

Aside from teaching their class each week, Bro. and Sis. Dean have been an integral part of the Sunday School fundraisers and Super Sunday.

Bro. and Sis. Dean are dedicated teachers and we are very blessed to have them as part of the Moriah Apostolic Church Sunday School staff.

Kristen Saunders - Jr. High Class

Sis. Kristin Saunders is a wife and mother of four children.  She has been teaching Sunday School for 12 years.  "It is so important for children to have desire instilled in their hearts at a young age, so they can effectively remember their creator in the days of their youth.  It is my goal  to teach them God's ways to the best of my ability and to be used as a vessel in His precious kingdom."

Sis. Kristin is also the director of our Youth Choir.  She is a wonderful asset to our Sunday School staff and we are so blessed to have her as a teacher.

Jonathon Moore, Jim Lucas - Sr. High Class

Bro. Jonathan Moore is the teacher for the Sr. High School class.  He and his wife, Sis. Bethany Moore, are also the Youth Leaders at Moriah Apostolic Church.  "One of my goals for the class is that each young person would grow deeper in their walk with the Lord and become more committed to Him."

Bro. Jim Lucas, Jr. assists Bro. Moore with the teen class.  They are excited about their class and the opportunity to teach the teens at Moriah Apostolic Church.   The class is fun and exciting!  The teens eagerly participate in interactive class discussions regarding current events, the Bible and how it relates to their daily lives.

We are blessed to have both Bro. Moore and Bro. Lucas on our staff.
